Obituary

H. Wayne Knight, 87, of Rexburg, Idaho died in the early morning, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.  He was born on Thursday, December 2nd, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Clarence Wayne Knight and Sadie Ladain Kembel.  Coincidentally, there was a solar eclipse that same day. He is survived by his four children, Patricia, Michael, Perry, and Leslie.  Survivors include grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Those awaiting to receive him include his parents, Clarence and Sadie; siblings, Jane, William, Sharron, and Alan, a grandson.  He was married to Karen Darlene Young, Virginia Gail Black, and Billie Holmchick.

Wayne's greatest personal value was independence and he vigorously pursued it as a member of the Teamster's Union driving truck and later buying and selling semi trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. He was happiest while working and created many lifelong friends and business associates, including several in foreign countries.

He left high school early in order to work full time and never looked back. His work ethic, creativity, and strict adherence to sound business practices resulted in the desired independence and allowed him to support his family and quietly benefit others.

His view of life is reflected in oft-repeated counsel to family and friends, "The only thing you really control in this life is your attitude, so make it a good one."

Wayne's Celebration of Life and memorial service will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 18 January, 2025 at the LDS Chapel at 2332 West 2000 South, Rexburg ID 83440.
