Hugh Smith Parker, 90, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on September 12, 2020.
Hugh was born in Rexburg, Idaho to the late Admiral Dewey Parker and Mae Smith Parker on September 4th, 1930. Hugh was a graduate of Madison High School. After High School Hugh served a 2 year LDS mission in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He then returned to farm his father's land. In 1963 he met his eternal companion Evva Deen Weaver and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1964. Hugh and Evva Deen gave life to 8 beautiful children, 5 girls and 3 boys. Hugh Parker had 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Hugh worked for Trans America Financial services in Idaho Falls for over 35 years. After his retirement from Trans America Hugh and Evva Deen were called to serve missions in Buffalo, NY; Melbourne, Australia; and a service mission at Deseret Industries.
Hugh had many callings including Bishop for 8 years during that dam flood. He loved serving his Savior Jesus Christ. He was kind hearted, hard working, and humble. He embraced adventure and lived life with no regrets. We will celebrate the life of this great man.
Hugh is survived by his wife Evva Deen Weaver Parker, his eight children Jyl (Doyle) Jenkins, Amy (John) Young, Becky (Ivan) Earl, the spirit of David (Traci) Parker, DeeAnn (Daniel) Solis, Adam (Heidie) Parker, Spencer (Tara) Parker, Denise (Colby) Thomason, His 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and His brother Brent Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Admiral Dewey Parker, Mae Smith Parker, his sister Kathryn Parker Chapple. His brothers Max Parker, Lynn Parker, Gail Parker, and Grant Parker and his son David Parker.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14th at the Sugar City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to www.flammfh.com
