Hugh Arthur Wright, 90, formerly of St. Anthony, passed away due to incidents of age at the Veterans Administration Community Living Center on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Boise, Idaho.

Hugh was born on May 20, 1925 in Rexburg, Idaho to Hugh Alexander and Francis Roylance Wright. He was raised in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. He married Ruth Mae Cherry, his high school sweetheart on June 21, 1944 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. After they were married he served in the military as a S/sgt. waist-gunner on a B-17 as part of the 8th Air Force based in England during World War ll. They made their home and raised their family in St. Anthony where Hugh opened his Accounting Practice, and later owned and operated Wright's Jewelry, Gift and Department Store.

Hugh was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various church callings. He was involved in many organizations throughout the community and enjoyed helping the community to grow. The past 3 ½ years Hugh has been living in Boise, Id. with his daughter (Pat) and son-in-law (Jeff).

Hugh is survived by his son Richard of Portland, Or; his daughter Patricia (Jeff) of Boise, Id.; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Frances Wright; his wife Ruth Mae Cherry; son Micheal; two brothers Karl and Francis; and 4 sisters Stella Redford, Emma Grover, Ruth Moedl and Bertha Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5th at the St. Anthony LDS Second Ward with Bishop Brent Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, April 4th from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony and again from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
