Imelda Vargas, age 40, died Sunday June 19th 2016 at the University Of Utah Medical Center Hospital after massive stroke.
Imelda was born Jan. 16, 1976 In Sioux City Iowa, and then later on moved to Saint Anthony Idaho.
Miss. Vargas is survived by her fiancé Von Souimanyphanh, Mother Rosa Vallejo, Father Salomon Garcia Vargas. Two brothers, Jose Ricardo Vargas, Noe (Rosana) Vargas. Niece, Alecsyss Vargas. Nephews, Jesse, Noah and Khai Vargas, Trinity Trevizo, Maize Trevizo and her two steps kids, Tyler Souimanyphanh and Tayah Souimanyphanh.
Imelda was a graduate of Utah State University where she received her bachelor's degree, and she later earned her Master Degree from Grand Canyon University in special education. Imelda received the Canyons School District Early Childhood Special Educator of the year award for 2016. She taught Special Education Preschool at Jordan Valley School from 2009 until 2016.
Imelda enjoyed traveling, reading, camping anything outdoors with good music involving her family and friends. Imelda was a special person that could just light up the room with her big white smile and her beautiful brown eyes. She was the life of the party no matter where she would be. She has made a huge impact on her students, parents and her friends or anyone around her.
She is preceded in death by her brother Salomon Jr. Vargas, Grandma Esther Aguilar.
The viewing will be held at 6 P.M. Wednesday June 22, 2016, At the Wasatch Memorial Park and Mortuary. 3401 S Highland Drive Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.
There will be an additional visitation on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony) and funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony Second LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Michael E. Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Riverview Cemetery.
