Ingvi L. Pearson died peacefully in her home April 17th, 2018 from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Ingvi Linnea Lindblad Pearson was born on January 7, 1934 in Jönkoping, Sweden. She was the oldest of five children of Viva and Tage Lindblad. She grew up and attended schools in Sweden.
She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1950. Consequently, she immigrated to the United States in in 1951. She married Lorentz Clarence Pearson on March 17, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They lived in Utah, Minnesota, Sweden 3 times, and Rexburg. She had a passion for learning. They had 6 daughters together.
Ingvi had a passion for learning and took many classes at Ricks College. She was an avid reader and belonged to book clubs for over 40 years, which she enjoyed very much. She taught herself to cook and sew. She became accomplished in these areas. For many years she sewed and tailored clothing for her 6 daughters and grandchildren. She delighted in giving homemade pies, cookies, breads, and cream puffs to neighbors and friends. She found pleasure in entertaining friends and gave great dinner parties. She loved beautiful music and played the accordion. She was also talented in gardening and growing flowers. She enjoyed decorating and maintaining a lovely home. She appreciated good art and collected a lot of nice art in her home.
She was an active member in the LDS Church and served in many callings including the temple, Primary and Relief Society. Her favorite calling was music chairperson for her ward's Sacrament meetings.
Ingvi was active in the Ricks College Faculty Women Organization where she served as president in the late sixties. She was active in the Rexburg Civic Club and politics. She worked for many years at the Ricks College Bookstores where she made many lifelong friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Lloyd) Benson of Milo, Idaho; Beth (Kem) Cazier of Alton, Wyoming; Solveig (Burke) Nelson of Bear River, Utah; Ellen Pearson of Rexburg, Idaho; Kjerstin (Scott) Schick of Hyde Park, Utah; Laura Pearson of Rexburg, Idaho; brother and sisters, Ingvar Lindblad and Aino Hellmuth of Sweden, and Vivianne Zirker of Bend, Oregon; 20 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorentz, her parents, and sister Gunvor Örebers.
Funeral services will be at held Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 am at eh Rexburg East Stake Center, 387 S 4th E, Rexburg. A viewing will be held in the Rexburg East Stake Center Friday, April 20th from 6-8 pm, and Saturday from 10-10:30. at the same address.
