IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Isabelle Anderson
Wolfe
June 24, 1932 – October 26, 2021
Isabelle Anderson Wolfe, 89, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away on October 26, 2021, at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg, Idaho surrounded by her children, Todd Wolfe, and Debra Reposa.
Isabelle was born June 24, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the fifth of nine children, to Henry Albert Anderson and Ethel Catten Anderson. She was blessed to be raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She enjoyed Primary as a young girl, going to the cannery with her mom, and being in plays and singing in the choir. She served in many callings in the Church and said that she gained a strong testimony through serving. She knew that the teachings of the Church were true. She loved going to Cottonwood Canyon, hiking, picnicking, sports, and all things outdoors.
She also became a good seamstress and a great cook. When she was 11 years old her family moved to Richland, Washington. She graduated from high school in 1951 and went to work as a mail clerk for the Atomic Energy Commission at Hanford.
In 1952 she moved with her sister Shirley to Long Beach, California. She got a job in Los Angeles in the Rosemarie Reed swimming suit factory. It was while living there that she met her husband, Richard Roland Wolfe, who was a sailor stationed there. Soon after they met, he received orders to go overseas. They wrote to each other for 1 ½ years and soon after he returned home, they were married on September 14, 1954, and moved to Montana. They lived in Missoula and Great Falls the first two years they were married, then Dick's brother, Don, who lived in Alaska, talked them into moving to Fairbanks, Alaska. They ended up living there for 28 years.
Some of their happiest years were when they adopted their two children. In October 1963, they adopted an adorable baby boy they named William Todd, and the next year they flew to Los Angeles, California, to be married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. They also had their son sealed to them.
Then in 1967 they adopted a beautiful baby girl they named Debra Lynn, and in 1973 they had her sealed to them in the Provo LDS Temple. After Isabelle's husband, Dick, retired from being Chief of Police, they moved to Richland, Washington, and then in 1985 they moved to Hamilton, Montana, where Dick would travel back and forth to Alaska working in security at Prudhoe Bay until 1991 when he totally retired.
They lived in Hamilton for 37 years before Dick passed away on August 2, 2018. Isabelle moved to the Homestead Cottages in Rexburg, Idaho, in 2019 to be closer to her youngest brother, Kenton and his wife, Marilyn. Her daughter, Debbie, moved from Georgia to Rexburg to help her the last few months of her life which was a great blessing to Isabelle.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Roland Wolfe of 64 years, her parents, Henry Albert and Ethel Catten Anderson, her older brother, Henry, her sister, Shirley Fadely and her sister and Brother-in-law, Becky and (Gene) DeGraw. She is survived by her son, William Todd Wolfe, daughter, Debra Lynn Reposa, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Diane Volmer (Carl) Richland, WA, Linda Walley, (Galen) Soap Lake, WA, and her brothers, Richard Anderson (Donna) Glendale, AZ, George Anderson (Pam) Richland, WA, Kenton Anderson (Marilyn) Rexburg, ID, Sister-in-law, Pat Anderson, Kennewick, WA, and Brother-in-law, Charles Russell Fadely, Conway, AZ.
