Jack Wayne Rowe, 70, of Rexburg, died Friday, February 4, 2011 in Idaho Falls. He was born July 18, 1940 to Mary Eline Anson and Kenneth Rowe in Detroit, Michigan. His family moved to Oregon when he was young, where he attended schools in the Coos Bay area.
He married and had two children and later divorced. He served in the US Navy, traveling the world during peace time prior to the Vietnam War. He lived in Oregon and worked in the fishing industry and also worked as a lumberjack. He moved to Wyoming and drove an armored vehicle for Wells Fargo Bank. He later moved to Idaho Falls and then to Rexburg. He worked in the area driving truck for Joe Covington, working at Nelson Ricks Creamery and finally in a potato warehouse.
He married Glenda McCain Thomason on June 19, 1982 in Elko, Nevada. The made their home in Rexburg.
He loved to fish, hunt and work in his yard. He loved his family and pets. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Glenda of Rexburg, a son Kenneth and a daughter Debbie both of Coos Bay, OR, step children, Dorinda Thomason (Michael) Karn of German Town, MD and Derek Thomason of Idaho Falls, ID, as well as 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Rexburg LDS Center Stake, (590 Summerwood Drive) Bishop Kevin Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery. Memorials may be made at the funeral home in behalf of the family.
