Jacqueline Louise Paulette Mundet, 89, of Rexburg, died June 20, 2016, at her home surrounded by family. She was born April 11, 1927, in Paris, France to Pierre Robert and Pauline Eugenie Henriette Tinelli Mundet. Jacqueline lived most of her life in Paris. She visited Idaho once in 1966 and dreamed of living out her life here for the next 50 years. She spent her final year here.
She worked as the First Seamstress at the High Fashion House of Nina Ricci. She also studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, specializing in Egyptian paintings. She loved art and was a great artist in many mediums. She liked drawing and sewing.
She had a very deep love of the mountains, to the point of rock climbing in the French Alps.
She loved her Savior and served him faithfully from the time she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her most endearing and remarkable quality was her smile, which she kept even up to the very end when it was the only communication she had left.
She loved being called Lala, which was her 3 year-old granddaughter's understanding of her "Oh, La La!"
She is survived by her daughters, Annie Lenormand of Strasbourg, France, Monique (Jean-Marc) Bourroux of Caen, France, Manuela (Stephen) Goodman of Rexburg; a sister, Suzette (Marc) Jarry of Fouras, France; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at the Rexburg LDS East Stake Center with Bishop Pat Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends and family Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
