Jake Keith Nilsson, 19, of Menan, died November 28, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born July 3, 1997, in Rexburg, Idaho to Derrick Andrew and Jaymie Lyn Bradley Nilsson. He attended school in Sugar City and graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 2016.
Jake was the light of our lives from the moment he was born and he opened his beautiful brown eyes. He was always first to stand up for the underdog. He was so painfully shy. He loved to hang out with his friends and go to the gym after school or work.
He loved to hunt, fish and be with his dad at the farm. He loved to work side by side with our family. We are so eternally grateful we had him for 19 years. We learned so much from him, as he did from us. Jake was wise beyond his years.
He was excited to go and live with his sister, Taylor, and go to school. He worked so hard to earn the money to go.
He was fiercely protective of his older sister, Kaylee, and loved his nephews. Sadly he was called home to serve his mission, hand in hand with our Savior who we know will love and protect him until we are called home. We will love and miss you, "Shaken Bacon".
Jake is survived by his parents Derrick and Jaymie Nilsson of Menan; sisters, Kaylee (Jud) Parkinson of Downey, Taylor (Brandon) Parkinson of Tucson, Arizona; grandparents, Jim and Pat Nilsson of Salem, Craig and Connie Bradley of Salem, Dean and Jayann Moon of Island Park; great-grandparents, Lowell and Larena Young of St. Anthony; nephews, Raiden, Dillon and Kase Parkinson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, at the Menan LDS Stake Center.
