Jana Lee Orr Poulsen passed suddenly at her home, Monday morning, September 1, 2014.
Jana was raised on the Egin Bench and loved this area and the family and friends that were all such a part of her life. In fact, other than the first four years of her married life, she has lived her entire life on the Egin Bench with loved ones and friends close by.
She attended Parker-Egin Elementary and So. Fremont Jr. and Sr. High schools. After high school graduation she went on to Ricks College and found the love of her life and ended up with a "Mrs." degree. She loved being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother! And of course, being the youngest of 11 children, and being so loved, she knew how to love, and became a "favorite" aunt to many nephews and nieces, and even many more great-nephews and great-nieces, which all called her aunt Jana and shared that same love.
Jana married John Poulsen in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple in July 1974 and just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have been blessed with six beautiful children. Tiffany, Heather, Trever, Christopher, Lindsay, and David. They, all in turn, have blessed the family with 16, and soon to be 17 beautiful grandchildren. She loves family, and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, knows and lives with the knowledge of families can be together forever. She has taught that to her family by example and the love of the gospel.
She has served in many callings in the Church, in Primary, Relief Society, and in the Young Women organization. She loved serving as Young Women camp director for the ward and the stake on several occasions. She loves to be involved in service especially with the young people.
While her children were in school, she loved to substitute teach, serving and helping with the S.F. Booster Club, and was the high school Cheer leader adviser for a few years. She was a natural at cheering her children and teams on to better things. She spent most of her life following, supporting, and cheering for her children, and grandchildren in their various activities.
Jana also has a love and passion for flowers. She was a designer/florist for over 24 years, which she loved working and arranging flowers for all occasions and such beautiful arrangements they were. Her love for flowers overflowed at home as well, as her yard portrays so many beautiful flowers. And she always raised a beautiful, producing garden and raspberry patch.
Jana loves family, family parties, friends, fun times with others. Such a joy! Such an example and influence to so many people and loved ones. She is now carrying on that enthusiasm on the other side of the veil with friends and loved ones that have also passed on and with new ones she will meet. Love ya "J"!
