Janae Kitchen Raty, 69, of Sugar City, Idaho died Friday, September 15, 2023 in Idaho Falls. She was born January 16, 1954 in Provo, Utah, the seventh child of John Kitchen and Annie Shepherd Kitchen. Growing up she lived in various parts of Utah and Wyoming. She attended the Utah Technical College in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1972 and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah from 1973 - 1974.

She married Dallas Laine Raty in the Provo LDS Temple on June 26, 1975. They lived in various parts of Utah, California, and Idaho. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to six children, and blessed with 18 grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Beth (Raty) Wright & Wesly Wright, Benjamin Raty & Amy (Jacobs) Raty, Nicolle (Raty) Murray & Adam Murray, Tamara Anthony & Garry Hood, Timothy Raty, and Brian Raty & Alisa (Anderson) Raty.
Janae's grandchildren: Robyn, Lillian & Gavin Wright; Jacob, Caleb & Brenna Demharter, Leah, Mirrah & Greta Raty; Rosanna (Murray) Thomas, Brec & Jay Murray; and Helen, Eric, Arianna, Esther & Brian Raty.
Janae's siblings: John & Kay Kitchen, Fred & Miriam Kitchen, Weston & Dorothy Kitchen, Ann (Kitchen) & Jack Otto, Helen Kitchen, Carolyn (Kitchen) & Ray Killion, Joan (Kitchen) & Michael Yocum, and Doug & Olga Kitchen.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Dallas Raty, her parents: John Kitchen & Annie Shepherd Kitchen; and a granddaughter: Mindy Murray.

Funeral Service will be held at the LDS Sugar City Stake Center Chapel, on Thursday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m.. The family will receive friends at the Flamm Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Sugar City Cemetery.
