Jay Harris Anderson, 73 formerly of Rexburg, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Idaho Falls. He was born December 21, 1940 to Veir and Thelma Anderson in Los Angeles, California.
He grew up in Los Angeles in the 50s and 60s, he loved anything that made noise and went fast.
He spent his spare time working on cars. Then on the weekends he would race dirt bikes on the desert. His hobby was building street rods and bikes. He also trained horses and participated in many reining events.
After graduating from high school he worked from a company that built parts for the Apollo spacecraft. It was at this time he meet Karren Holden who became the love of his life. They married and had a daughter Julie.
In 1971 they moved to Idaho where he worked at Targhee Sports as a bike mechanic. He then worked from 1972 to 2005 for Erickson Pontiac GMC. Finally he worked for Grover's All Wheels.
He is survived by his wife Karren Anderson, his daughter Julie both of Idaho Falls and a brother Vern Anderson of Westminster,Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.
