Jay Dee Ard, 58 of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday afternoon at his cabin after a good day of four wheeling.
He was born April 8, 1959 in Rexburg, Idaho to Alvin Dee and Carol Dawn Timothy Ard. He attended grade school in Rexburg and Jr. High and Sr. High school in Sugar City where he graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1977.
At a very young age he began working with his dad in his excavation business. Around the turn of the century Jay Dee and his dad started a landfill and salvage business in Wilford. He worked with all types of machinery and had a nack for using those machines to accomplish a task that that particular machine was not intended for. He was often called on to do excavations tasks that few were willing to attempt.
When his boys were participating in various sports Jay Dee was often a part of the coaching staff and was the favorite coach for a lot of their friends.
He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing, scuba diving, snow machining or four wheeling. To say that he enjoyed life would be an understatement.
He is survived by his sons, Zackary Jay Ard and Donavan J (Chalet) Ard; granddaughter Layton Jay Ard; Sister Cari Ann Ard; brothers, Quinn (Beth) Ard; Tim (Terri) Ard; Jason (Rose) Ard; and John Ard. He was preceded in death by his parents.
