Jean Fletcher Lords (85) of Rexburg, Idaho, and formerly Pocatello, died peacefully in her home Saturday, August 11, 2018, exactly three years after her beloved husband, Garph Lords passed away. She was born July 2, 1933, to Preston and Jannie Fletcher in Vernal, Utah. She was raised by her mother and grandparents in Shelley, Idaho, until she married Garph Lords on February 27, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
During their life together, they lived in Pocatello, Idaho; Bemidji, Minn.; Lakeview, OR; Tillamook, OR, and Rexburg. While in Rexburg, she and Garph opened the Bed Place and they managed it together with their daughter for 25 years. She was active in the LDS Church and served in many presidencies and organizations. She was the first Young Women's President that was ever called in the Bemidji Branch.
In 1985 she and Garph purchased land and built their dream cabin in Island Park. Many happy family memories were made as they gathered together there. She loved drawing, tole painting, her raspberries, reading, crocheting, sewing, needlework, quilting, cooking, and crafts of all kinds. She instilled this gift in her children and grandchildren.
Her most precious gift was her husband, children, and grandchildren and spending time with them. She has so missed her husband and was looking forward to their reunion.
She leaves behind 4 children: Kevin (Marilyn) Lords, Debbie (Dave) Ukkola, Terry (Greg) Dehlin, and Tracy Poore and brother Brent Fletcher and Sister-in-Law Millie Fletcher. She has 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Preston Fletcher and Jannie Fletcher, brother Gary Fletcher, son-in-law Donald Poore (Tracy) and granddaughter Sara Jean Ukkola.
