Obituary

Jean McGarry 80 passed away peacefully on November 17,2022 at Fair Winds assisted living community in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Jean was born May 5, 1942, to Lewis and Ruth Taylor in Rexburg, Idaho in the cafeteria of the hospital because all the rooms were full. In her early years she and her older brother Steve lived in Hamer, Idaho in a sheep camp with her parents during the summer months and returned to live in Rexburg during the winter months. She loved her summers in the sheep camp but didn't love her time in town. She said she was always a country girl. Later she got another sister Colleen and brother Lester. With a twelve-year gap they were like her children, she loved helping take care of them.

She married Murland Boulter June 10, 1959. They had 4 children Terrie, Jim, Cody and Will. She liked to go to the team roping's and have family dinners and occasional trips to the river for float trips. They were later divorced.

She married Theron McGarry on July 16, 1992, gaining 2 more children, Tina and Jeff. Jean and Theron were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. She loved the ranch life but as we all know ranchers need a wife that works uptown to help pay the bills, so she went to work for Dana Miller at the chiropractor office as a receptionist. She loved meeting and visiting with patients. While she was working at the chiropractor's she was also the camp cook for their guest ranch. She met and made lifelong friends from people all over the world. She loved working in her yard and gardening and most of all her flowers. She also made many quilts and loved crocheting on baby blankets. She was so excited when she got to go camping and fishing with her sister and brother-in-law. She loved working cattle on the ranch and spending time with family. Family Christmas parties were always a favorite for everyone. They started out at the house but as the family grew the parties moved to the church. She had many happy years there which she shared with her faithful companion Shadow.

A special thanks to staff of Fair Winds assisted community for the loving care they gave her over the past year. She made friends everywhere she went and always had a hug and smile for everyone. She will be missed by everyone.

She is survived by her children: Terrie (Doyle) Barney of Rexburg; Jim (Chris) Boulter of Rigby; Will (Joan) Boulter of Rigby; Don (Shantell) Clements of Rexburg; Tina (Derk) Morton of Rexburg; Jeff McGarry of Rexburg. She has 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Lyle Hutchinson of Challis, Idaho and her sister-in-law Marsha Taylor of Delta Junction, Alaska.

She is preceded in death by her husband Theron McGarry, daughter Cody Clements, her parents Lewis and Ruth Taylor, brothers Steve Taylor and Lester Taylor, sister-in-law Amy Taylor, sister Colleen Hutchinson and a great grandson.
