Jean Tighe
Blanche Jean Tighe, 86 of Ashton, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Ashton Living Center of natural causes.
She was born October 26, 1923 in Farnum, Idaho to Joseph Theodore and Blanche Murdoch Reiman.
She grew up and lived in the Ashton area most of her life. She graduated in 1942 from Ashton High School. She married Marvin Eugene Tighe July 26, 1944 in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She became a skilled secretary during WWII at the Army Depot in Ogden, Utah. She later used those skills when she worked at Ashton Memorial Hospital and for various doctors at the Ashton Medical Center. She also worked as a clerk at Stoddard's Department Store.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions in Ward and Stake auxiliaries.
She was also an active member of the Ashton Post Auxiliary of the American Legion for almost 50 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, kniting, quilting, gardening, and playing the piano for family enjoyment. She was always the one behind the camera in photos and family movies.
She is survived by her children, Kay Lynn (Bill) Mitchell of Jerome, ID; Nava Reneau of Pocatello, ID; Vince (Alisa) Tighe of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Brent (Kristine) Tighe of Rexburg, ID; 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Marsden of Ashton, ID; and a brother, Lynn (Betty) Reiman of Rigby, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Uywan Crouch and one grandson, Stephen Tighe.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ashton 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (1313 North 3600 East) with Bishop Kevin Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
