Rexburg

Floretta Jean "Jeanie" Webster Fisher was born in Rexburg, Idaho on June 14, 1936 to Thomas R. Webster and Ruby Nielson Webster. Jeanie was always proud that she was born on Flag Day and to be an American citizen. She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jeanie had a happy childhood. Her best friend was her older brother Tom, who was just one year ahead of her. They spent many happy summers together at the dry farm. On October 17, 1940 Jeanie's baby sister Carol was born and it was a very happy occasion for the family. During the winters of 1947, 1948 and 1949 Jeanie's parents moved the family to San Diego California for three months at a time. She spoke of that adventure for the rest of her life. As a child and a young woman, Jeanie was painfully shy, even though she loved school and learned quickly. She always said that she had wonderful teachers, but her shyness often kept her from participating in class. Growing up Jeanie enjoyed skiing, tennis, golfing, cooking & dancing.

In 1954 after graduating from Madison High School Jeanie studied the entire BYU book of classes and careers before deciding on medical technology. She loved it! After three years of BYU. She completed a 12 month internship in the LDS hospital laboratory and graduated in 1958 with a Bachelors of Science in medical technology.

On March 7, 1958 three months before graduation she married Blair Fisher. Their marriage was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 10, 1997. After graduation Jeanie worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls until May 30, 1959 when they were preparing to welcome their first child Tammy. Sondra arrived a short year later and Todd in 1964.

Jeanie's life was centered around service to her family, neighbors and friends. Frequently her love was shown through her fabulous cooking. We will miss her hot rolls and birthday cakes. Jeanie and Blair loved their first home on Main Street and lived there for 13 years. In 1971 their family needed more room so they moved into a larger home on South Third East where they lived the rest of their lives.

Jeanie worked part-time at the St. Anthony Hospital and Madison Memorial Hospital. In 1969 Dr. Passey asked her to help establish a laboratory in his office. Jeanie continued working there until she was 70 years old, retiring in 2006. The friendships she formed during those years lasted long after retirement. Her coworkers weren't simply people she worked beside. They became lifelong friends.

Life with Blair also meant ranching, farming, cattle and plenty of adventures. Those were happy times shared with family and friends. In the late 1960s Blair became active in the local Cattlemen Association eventually becoming president of the Association in 1985. Those years gave Blair and Jeanie another wonderful chapter together. They traveled around Idaho, attending meetings, conventions and golf tournaments and made lifelong friends throughout the state. Blair and Jeanie loved to dance and would dance every chance they got.

Blair passed away October 4, 2019 on September 28, 2026 in Rexburg at the age of 90, Jeanie passed away.

Jeanie is survived by her daughters, Tammy (John) Nef, Sondra (David) Hoggan. Her sister Carol (Garth)Jewkes and sister-in-law Karen Webster. Jeanie also has precious grandchildren and grandchildren that will miss her.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Blair; son, Todd; son in law Arie Camphouse; brother Tom Webster and her parents Tom and Ruby Webster.

It is OK to be sad. But it's OK to be happy. Happy that we knew her. Happy that we got to call her mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, wife and friend!

Remember her with love

with laughter

with gratitude

and maybe, just maybe, a little dancing.

The family is honoring Jeanie's wishes for a private service.
