Jerry Arthur Dixon, 75 of Rexburg, died Saturday, September 10, 2011. He was born January 6, 1936 at Sarilda, Idaho to Lester Ervin and Frances Drucillia Wright Dixon. He married Carolyn Kay Mayers on August 31,1963 in Rexburg, Idaho.

Jerry attended school to the tenth grade in Fremont County. He lived in West Yellowstone, Montana and Terreton, Idaho then in Rexburg. He drove truck, worked on farm equipment and worked at Yellowstone as a logger. He loved to be a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, model car assembly, working puzzles and family activities. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Dixon of Rexburg, children; Sheila (Paul, III) Castro of Idaho Falls, Jim Dixon of Mud Lake, Tammy (Bannon) Mattson of Rexburg, Mike Dixon of Rexburg and Kevin (Dalelene) Schiffman of West Jordan, Utah, siblings; Alfred (Glenda) Dixon of Draper, Utah, Dean (Vivian) Dixon of Townsen, Montana, John Dixon of West Valley, Utah, Carol Dixon of West Jordan, Utah, Karen Warner of St. Anthony, Edith (Jack) Henry of St. Anthony, Francis (Kent) Bjornlie of Pocatello, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rigby Cemetery with military rites.
