Jerry Reese was born in Ely, NV. He attended high school in Idaho Falls, ID (class of '63). He attended college at the University of Idaho where he obtained a B.S. in Forestry (1968) and an M.S. in Range Management (1970). From there, he embarked on a 35-year career in the US Forest Service, culminating in him serving as the Supervisor of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Eastern Idaho.
He retired in 2005. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Teton Regional Land Trust from 2007 to 2015, including serving as the Board President from 2013 to 2014. He also served on the Board of Directors of Snake River Cutthroats – the local Trout Unlimited chapter– from 2008 to 2012.
Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in the natural world. He especially enjoyed upland bird hunting and fly fishing, two passions he was able to focus on in retirement along the Henry's Fork of the Snake River in St. Anthony, ID.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother LaRose, his father Bruce, and his brothers Tommy and Bob. He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Bruce and Steve, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
