Jessica Raylene Wilson, 28, died Monday, September 20, 2010, from injuries sustained in a pedestrian/vehicle accident in Provo, Utah.
Jessica was born November 9, 1981 in Rexburg, Idaho, daughter of Darla (Muir) and Everett Parks Wilson, Jr.
She attended Madison district schools and was a member of the 2000 Madison High School graduating class. She served an LDS Mission in the Baltics, after which she attended BYU Provo receiving her BS degree in social work August of 2009. Jessica became a Licensed Social Service Worker for the State of Utah in November of 2009. She was employed by the Wasatch Mental Health in December of 2009 and worked there until her death.
Jessica enjoyed helping people, an excerpt from her journal dated September 30, 2007, reads: "I'm gonna be a social worker! Woo-hoo! Do you know why? Because I am a teacher & I love to help people—it brings me joy."
Jessica is an inspiration to everyone who comes in contact with her. She never prejudged anyone always being accepted on their own merits. She was a talented artist, an avid reader, loved to play sports with friends, and was a runner. Jessica completed several marathons, Ragnar relay races and was a member of the ATK Run Club. She also loved to cook and would make new desserts for friends every weekend. She is a member of the LDS Church and has been a teacher in Primary, Relief Society, and currently a gospel doctrine teacher.
She is survived by her parents of Rexburg, Idaho; two grandmothers: Eloise Muir, Rexburg, Idaho and Leanora K. Wilson, of Clearfield, Utah; four sisters: Genevieve R. Wilson, of Draper, Utah, Crystal V. Brantner (Russell) of Tremonton Utah, Amber L. Kent (Daniel) of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Stacy R. Wilson of Ogden, Utah; four brothers: Everett P. Wilson III, (Jessica J. Weeks) of Ammon, Idaho, Michael C. Wilson, (Estee Forbush) of Logan, Utah, Jeremiah C. Wilson of Sandy, Utah, and James P. Wilson of Layton; three nephews and six nieces.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, September 25 at the Stonebridge LDS Chapel with Bishop Kirk Widdison officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
