Obituary

Jim Agee Hancock, 95, of Rexburg, passed away Sunday night Oct 6, 2013, at his home surrounded by family.

Jim was born April 19, 1918, in a small town, Mahaska, Iowa, to Frank Dean Hancock and Ethel Mae Agee Hancock. On Oct 22, 1945, Jim married Barbara Louise McCullar. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters Deborah and Barbara. On February 8, 1994, Jim's wife Barbara passed away in Nashua, New Hampshire.

On Oct 24, 1998, Jim married Ann Hope in Washington DC. Ann was previously married to Grant Hope who passed away in January of 1996.

Jim was a very accomplished man who served his country in the Navy for 5 years. After WW II he worked as a Field Engineer and traveled the world. Jim also had the opportunity to work for M.I.T.

Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions. Jim and Ann had the privilege of serving three missions for the church.

Jim was a wonderful Father, Uncle, and Grandpa and was very proud of all his family. He was a great example on how people should be treated, and was always willing to help those in need. He had a talent in telling stories and making everyone laugh. He will greatly be missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ann Hope Hancock and her children; sons, Bruce (Janie) Hope of Monteview, David (Linda) Hope of Hibbard; daughter, Lori (Jim) Muir of Lyman; his daughter, Barbara (Rodney) Riek of DeLafield, WI. Jim has 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ethel Hancock, brothers John and Frank and a daughter Deborah Hancock Haupt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Rexburg North Stake Center, (314 East 2nd North), with Bishop Gary Lovell officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Idaho Honor Guard and Madison County Veterans.
