Jimmie Dee Mitchell, 68, of Rexburg passed away November 16, 2010 of natural causes. He was born November 9, 1942 in Nashville, TN to Lonnie Stevens Mitchell and Ora Irene Maynard Pritchard.
His family moved to Rexburg when he was three years old. He attended Rexburg schools and graduated from Madison High School. He married his highschool sweetheart Sharan Brown on December 18, 1961 in Rexburg. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 23, 1965.
He worked for Nelson Ricks Creamery in Rexburg for 36 years as a fieldman and retired in December 2004. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed visiting with people and had the gift of gab, to him no one was a stranger. He had many hobbies. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with his wife, family and friends in Island Park at the cabin. He enjoyed everything that had to do with nature. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and each of their accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife Sharan, and his children Sheri Dee (Kevin) Scheffler of Ogden, UT, Brenda Dawn Hollist, Jim Cleon (Monica) Mitchell, Steven LaRoy (Leslie) Mitchell all of Rexburg, a brother Billy Dean Mitchell of Renton, WA, and a sister Linda Marie (Ed) McGinty of Boise, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, his father-in-law Cleon Brown, a son-in-law Shane Hollist and a half sister Maureen Crowe.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Rexburg LDS 11th Ward on 590 Summerwood Dr., with Bishop Kevin Anderson conducting. The family will meet with friends on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at the Rexburg Cemetery.
