Obituary

JoAnn Harper Drussel, 87, completed her earthly calling on Saturday April 17, 2021 of natural causes.

She was born July 21st, 1933 in Oakley, ID, to John Mayo Harper and Mary Ella Overson, the fifth of seven children. She was very active on the family farm and loved riding horses. She was Cassia County Rodeo Queen in 1950.

JoAnn married her first husband, Donald Nile Hobson on September 27th, 1952, and to this union Connie Annette Hobson Clawson was born. Donald Hobson was killed in a car accident in 1954.

JoAnn married her second husband, Donald Read Drussel on July 21, 1956, and to this union Kevin, Dale, D'Lene and Michael were born. They were married 49 years until Donald died in 2005.

JoAnn is survived by three children - Dale Drussel, D'Lene Alley, and Michael Drussel. Nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two husbands, daughter Connie and Son Kevin.

JoAnn started her professional career working for Mountain Bell and moved into the banking industry where she continued to work for many years. Cassia National Bank, Bank of Commerce, Idaho First National Bank and finished her banking career at First Security Bank/Wells Fargo until retirement. After she retired, she continued bookkeeping part-time for several companies.

She loved volunteering at the Rexburg Senior Center and served as a board member. Daughters of the Utah Pioneers was another favorite volunteer opportunity.

She had multiple callings in the LDS Church, Boys Scouts, librarian, mutual, relief society, weekly temple service. While she was proud of all her callings, she loved her time at the Jamaican Kingston Mission the most. surviving hurricane Dean in June of 2007 and taking care of all the missionaries that came through during her time with this calling.

Her highly competitive nature brought her and her bowling team many 1st places wins as well as many 200+ games.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the Archer LDS chapel. Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. in the Archer LDS chapel. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
