Joanne Henderson Gardner, 89, was born September 20, 1934 to Noal R and Verna Smith Henderson in St. Anthony, Idaho. She passed away with loved ones by her side on October 27, 2023. She grew up and attended school in Rexburg, graduating from Madison High School.

She met the love of her life, Arlan "Hyder" Gardner in the summer of 1951 and they married August 6, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 12, 1965. They added eight children to their union.

Joanne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Young Women's President, camp director and her favorite was the scouting program plus many others.

Joanne enjoyed quilting, embroidering, reading, going fishing with dad in Salmon, camping, gardening and anything to do with her family.

She is survived by her children Lyle Gardner of Teton; Dale (Connie) Gardner of Idaho Falls; Deanna Garner of Rexburg; Peggy (Reed) Richman of Rexburg; Bruce (Jana) Gardner of Rigby; Kathy (Karl) Hanosky of Rexburg; Kerry (Kim) Gardner of South Jordan, UT; son-in-law Dave Pearson of Rexburg; brother, Robert (Vicki) Henderson of Cedar Hills, UT; sisters, Sharon McCulloch of Shasta Lake, CA, Marion Purcell of Idaho Falls, Joyce (Wylie) Browning of Idaho Falls, J'lene (Layle) Cherry of Ashton.  18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Sherry Pearson, son in-law, Roger Garner, granddaughter Bridget, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Teton LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at Flamm Funeral Home and Friday, from 10:00 until 10:45 am at the church. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
