IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joel
Tolman
March 16, 1967 – December 22, 2021
Joel Eugene Tolman was born March 16, 1967 in Pocatello, Idaho to Robert Fell Tolman and Carol Dawn Francesconi Tolman.
He grew up in Pocatello and attended Jefferson Elementary, Franklin Junior High and Pocatello High School. He had great memories of his newspaper route, playing football, and family camping trips. He loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission for the church in Oklahoma. He especially loved serving in the church nursery as he loved babies and little children.
He met Amy Bowman, the love of his life, on July 8th 1998 on a blind date. He was so excited to meet her that he got in a wreck on the way there. His parents ended up meeting her first because he had to send them to let Amy know what happened.
Two years later--to the day--they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with three wonderful children: Madison Marie Tolman, Allison Jolee Tolman, and Michael John Tolman. Joel loved his family!
Joel especially liked babies and children as mentioned above, dogs, old cars and trucks, BYU football games, watching the news, barbecues and camping, His brother says he loved water but never learned to swim. He enjoyed collecting M & M memorabilia and Hotwheels.
Joel is survived by his wife and children, his parents, his siblings Robert Jon Tolman, Debarah Dawn Tolman Crane (Glenn), Shanna Leigh Tolman Shurtliff (Jerry), Roger Allan Tolman (Karen), Peter Charles Tolman (Clarissa), Andrea Nicole Tolman Underwood (John), and many beloved nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. Also, his mother-in-law and Amy's siblings.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents on both sides: Charles and Harriet Tolman and Gino and Dorothy Francesconi.
The family would like to thank the Madison Memorial Hospital staff and the Huntsman Cancer Care Center staff who were involved in Joel's care, Joel's work family at Albertsons where he worked for many years, the Burton 2nd Ward family, and any and all others of the wonderful people who lovingly touched the lives of Joel and his family. Their generosity is deeply appreciated.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, December 28th at 11:00 A. M. (with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM) at the Burton East Latter-Day Saint Meetinghouse located at 2332 W. 2000 S.
