IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Chapple
April 16, 1958 – February 14, 2025
John Cecil Chapple, aged 66, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2025. Born on April 16th, 1958, John lived a life full of adventure, passion, and love. He was married to Glenda Palmer on April 14th, 1978, and together they raised three children: Rob, Mitch, and Holly. John and Glenda later divorced, but John found love again with Marjorie (Marge) Gardner. They married on September 17th, 2010, and John gained four more children: Casey, Kelsie, Cory, and Kyler.
John had a lifelong love of cars and channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into opening John's Autobody at a young age. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, John earned a reputation as the best in the business, treating every car as if it were his own. As John got out of the auto repair world, he later found a love for driving truck. He enjoyed the long cross-country trips with Marge and always talked about the adventures they went on and the sights they got to see.
John's passion for life was evident in his many hobbies and activities. He loved bonfires and camping, and he loved to fish whether it was on Henry's Lake, out to Salmon, or anywhere he could cast his line. No matter where the fishing happened, there was usually a lottery ticket wagered for the first, the biggest, and the most! He also enjoyed going on drives and road trips; just to get out of town and go wherever the road would take him. He also had his pilot's license and had a deep love for flying. Even when he wasn't flying an airplane in the sky, he would spend hours piloting remote-controlled planes at "the little airport". John always enjoyed boating, from speedboats to fishing boats and most recently his cabin boat – especially on the 4th of July on Island Park Reservoir.
John also had a deep love of NFL Football. As a lifelong Seahawks fan, he spent many years wondering if he'd ever get to see them win a Super Bowl. Then in 2014, his lifelong support paid off as Seattle won Super Bowl 43.
Family meant everything to John; he cherished spending time with his loved ones and would never pass up an opportunity to take a few pictures so he could always cherish those moments.
While John put on a tough appearance, he always had a soft spot for his animals. He loved his Dobermans in his younger years, and later in life, he found joy and countless hours of enjoyment with his cats, Gomer and Sissy.
John is survived by his children: Rob Chapple, Mitch Chapple (Tara), Holly Meikle (Matt), Gage Stacey (Lindsay), Casey Williams, Kelsie Orr (Steve), Cory Gardner (Krista), and Kyler Gardner; his siblings: Don Chapple, Brad Chapple, Karen Brian, and Kerrie Gardner (Randy); 21 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Majorie Chapple, his parents, Bob Chapple and Iva Chapple, his sister Koreen Morgan, sister-in-laws Candy Chapple and Debbie Chapple, and brother-in-law Ralph Brian.
John loved adventure and being able to do things his way. He was always a joy to be around and had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor (if you are not easily offended). John will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and anyone who had a chance to know him. He was truly one of a kind!
A viewing for John will be held at Flamm's Funeral home at 61 N 1st E; Rexburg, ID 83440 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Family Graveside service will be held later for Family.
