Obituary

John C. Chee, 72, formerly of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 in Scottsdale, Arizona, peacefully in his sleep.

John was born on October 30,1938 to Ethel Manygoats and Destheenie Chischilly in Chinle, Arizona. He was an only child. He moved to Idaho in his early years to attend schools and learned farming in eastern Idaho.

He learned early in years about the love of his life working in the potato fields. He would get up early in the morning to work in the dry farms of Newdale, east of the Tetons. He would plow the fields from early morning to dusk.

He throughly enjoyed working with his hands and making things work. At the age of sixteen he got his first job at Schwendiman Farms of Newdale.

He married his sweetheart Alice Wauneka Chee of Teton, Idaho. They lived and made their home in the Teton -St. Anthony area. They raised nine children, six sons and three daughters.

He enjoyed his family and friends very much. He loved to work hard, fixing his farm equipment and working on his classical cars with his sons. He especially loved his farm work, working in the farmlands and seeing things grow.

He is survived by his sons; Dennis (Paula) Chee of Rigby, Edward Chee of Gallup, New Mexico, Benny Chee of Rigby, Johnny Chee of Rigby, Lavar (Shawna) Chee of Pocatello, Ronnie Chee of Shelby, Montana, his daughters; Charlene Singer of Denver, Colorado, Donna Chee of Blackfoot, Idaho, Elsie Rose Chee of Rigby, twenty grandchildren; Coldy, Rudee, Jordan, Sajan, Keenan, Taylor, Lacey, Aaron, Eric, Bo Derek, Eldon, Shakira, Bree, Sherdaria, William, Kaya, Robert, Bryan, Melinda, Isaac Joshua, two great grandchildren; Isaiah, Kylie, his aunts and uncles; Irene Begay of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lucy Ben, Martha Begay both of Chinle, Arizona, Sadi Kee of Many Farms, Arizona, Mari Dohi, Marco e Dodge, Eddie Begay all of Chinle, Arizona and Teddy Begay of Phoenix, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Flamm Funeral Home (61 North 1st East in Rexburg). The family will receive friends Friday, September 30th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
