John Kidd, 80, of St. Anthony, passed away on November 1, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born on September 23, 1935 in Grethel, Kentucky to Hoover and Mary McKinney Kidd. There he climbed trees, played in the mountains, farmed, and worked in coal mines until he moved to Boise, Idaho for work. There he met and married Minnie Kidd in 1963. After 37 years of marriage they divorced.
He worked various jobs including Hopperdietzel Cheese and the Idaho Stud Mill. After retiring from the stud mill he would spend time enjoying his children and grandchildren. He had a great interest in electronics and would tinker with anything electrical. He enjoyed building his own furniture and wood toys for his grandchildren. He loved to be with them and do things for them.
He is survived by two sisters, Oma Parsons of Rexburg and Lou Howell of St. Anthony; children, Bobbi Miranda (Cruz), Yancie Kidd (Heidi), both of St. Anthony, Idaho; grandchildren, Lance Miranda (Jacy), Xavier Miranda, Kiah Kidd, Connor Kidd, Kayla Kidd, Kira Kidd, Cameron Kidd, and Kilee Kidd, all of St. Anthony, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoover and Mary Kidd; his siblings, Lenard Kidd, Virdie Kidd, Marvin Kidd, Hazel Kidd, Cecil Kidd; and a grandson, Ricky Miranda.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the St. Anthony Second LDS Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
