John Edward Mickelsen, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
He was born April 24, 1948 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Martin and Ann Mickelsen. He attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School.
He served in the US Navy during Vietnam.
He learned hard work from his father on the family dairy farm and later worked as a diesel mechanic, a loger and truck driver.
His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with.
He is survived by 3 sons, Joey Mickelsen, Jacob (Andrea) Mickelsen, and Jared Mickelsen, 2 daughters, Kim Miller, and Trish Greenup, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with a great grandson on the way. He is also survived by a brother Keith (Joyce) Mickelsen and a sister Betty Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, sister Judy Nelson and a granddaughter.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9th 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony 3rd Ward Chapel, 507 W. 2nd N. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery with military rites. Arrangements are under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
