Obituary

Darwin was Born July 21 1960 St. Anthony Idaho, Fremont County, Idaho and lived in St. Anthony until the age of four at which time he moved, with his mother, to Hayden Lake, Idaho. He then moved to Rexburg, Idaho. He and his mother then moved to Salmon, Idaho He then moved back to Hayden Lake where he attended grade school. . He and his mother then moved to Idaho Falls where he completed his schooling. He attended OE Bell Junior High School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended Vocational Tech school in mechanics. He lived with his brothers Dale at Hayden Lake, Idaho and Norman at Wenatchee Washington for three years working at Northwest Geo Dimensions. He then moved to Idaho Falls to work with his nephew Michael Tracy at AM Garage. Darwin also worked for his brother Glen on his dry farm. His last move was to Salt Lake Utah where he passed away on July 25, 2012 at he age of 52 from natural causes.

He enlisted into the US Army in 1980 were he received training as a diesel mechanic. Darwin served as a mechanic until his discharge in 1983 when he received an honorable discharge. He also served in the Army Reserves from 1983 to 1986 and National Guard Reserves. He attended additional schooling to be ASCE certification for several auto repair shops where he worked. Darwin was a member of the LDS church.

JD had several interests and hobbies. Darwin has an outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, ATV riding and snowmobile riding. He loved family gatherings. He delighted in spending time with his older brothers and sisters their children.

He is survived by three brothers; Glen D. Nelson, Dale E. Nelson Norman D. Nelson. He also has three surviving sisters; Laura Elaine Nelson (Hill), Joan Ardith Nelson (Roberts), and Eva Liana Nelson (Palmer).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents;: Joseph and Alice Nelson, William Ortez and Letha Pauline Byrne; his parents Elmer Joseph and Ina Leona Nelson; siblings Reed LeRoy Nelson, Barbara June Nelson (Atteberry), Peggy Lois Nelson (Nelson); niece and nephew Jarrod Robert Palmer and Janie Jo Nelson; brother-in-law Barry Roberts; sister in-in-law Julie Anne Nelson; great niece Megan Dail Cunningham

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday Aug. 9th 2012 at Flamm Funeral Home, Glen Nelson officiating. Family will receive friends form 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Condolences may be sent online to www.flammfh.com.

Interment will be at Annis Little Butte Cemetery next to his parents and brother.
