John Blair Poulsen (67) passed away in his home surrounded by family Saturday evening, February 19, 2022 after battling complications from cancer.
John was born February 6, 1955 to Blair and Grace Poulsen in Murray, Utah and was raised in Gooding, Idaho where he attended high school and was the student body president and played guitar in a band.
He later attended Ricks College traveling overseas with the ballroom dance team. While attending college he met his sweetheart and eternal companion, Jana Lee Orr.
John and Jana were married in the Idaho Falls temple on July 13, 1974. They raised their family in Egin, Idaho. They have been blessed with six children; Tiffany, Heather, Trever, Christopher, Lindsay, and David. They, all in turn, have blessed the family with 21 grandchildren.
He had a strong testimony and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and His family. He served valiantly in many callings including assistant stake finance clerk, ward clerk, bishopric member, Elders Quorum President, and temple ordinance worker.
He loved life and always maintained a grateful attitude. He treated everyone he met with kindness and respect and would go out of his way often to serve others. He had a genuine smile and worked hard his entire life to love and provide for his family.
John is survived by his children, Tiffany (Brett) Johnson of Egin, Idaho, Heather (Koby) Bennett of Lewiston, Utah, Trever (Jaimie) Poulsen of Egin, Idaho, Christopher (Courtney) Poulsen of Kaysville, Utah, Lindsay (Rob) Call of Rexburg, Idaho, David (Heather) Poulsen of St. Anthony, Idaho and 21 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Billie Buttars, Brenda Jones, Peggy Davis, and Bob Poulsen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jana, his parents, Blair and Grace Poulsen, and two siblings, Russell and Ruth Anne Poulsen.
Funeral Services will be held Friday February 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Egin Bench Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 to10:45 a.m. at the Egin Church. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
