Joseph "Randal" Flamm, 42, currently of La Crosse Wisconsin, died Sunday, July 5, 2026, due to cardiac surgical complications.
Randal was born October 17, 1983 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Garth and Linda Luke Flamm. He was the sixth of seven children. Randal was their miracle baby. He was born with a heart condition that required open heart surgery before he was one year old.
He attended schools in Madison County, graduating from Madison High School in 2002.
He enjoyed Scouting and earned his Eagle Scout award. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission in the New York, New York North mission.
Upon returning home, he attended BYU-Idaho for Graphic Design. On August 25, 2006, he was sealed to Stefanie Moser in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple.
They lived in Rexburg, ID where he earned his bachelor degree in Graphic Design from BYU-Idaho and worked for The Standard Journal. They then moved to Chattanooga, TN, where he went to school at Center Centre for UX Design. Then on to La Crosse, WI, where he was employed by Emplify Health as a Digital User Experience Designer.
He was a dedicated family man, he loved his wife, and kids. Randal was always up for an adventure and taking his family on trips which often included Stef’s siblings.
Randal was a joy to be around. He loved to laugh and usually had a joke or story to tell. Because of his health history the doctors told him he couldn’t play contact sports so he played soccer, enjoyed hiking, biking, and loved to play ping pong. He even learned to ride a unicycle. After watching a vintage baseball game in Chattanooga, he joined a league later on, earned the nickname “Spud”, and loved playing baseball the way it was intended to be played by the rules of 1860.
He is survived by his wife, Stefanie, his children; Mallory, Skyla, Jaxson, Olivia, and Emerson. He is also survived by his parents and his siblings; Hyrum (Emi) Flamm of Rexburg, Heather (Richard) Fisher of Salt Lake City, Utah, Weston (Candee) Flamm of Rexburg, Daniel (Sara) Flamm of Munich, Germany, Ryan Flamm of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Andrew (Collette) Flamm of Rexburg, Idaho, his in-laws; Michael and Elizabeth Moser, as well as many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Thank you to all those who have expressed their love and support.
