Jossine Marlu Farrimond Saurey, 83, of St. Anthony, formerly of Hibbard, died August 31, 2016, of natural causes. She was born October 24, 1932, in Twin Groves, Idaho, the 8th and last child of John and Millie Baker Farrimond. She grew up in the St. Anthony area and loved the outdoors and horses. She graduated from South Fremont High School.
She met Lyle Saurey at a Halloween party and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on January 12, 1951. They had a farm in Hibbard and raised their five children there. Lyle worked at U&I Sugar Company and Jossine worked as a hairdresser.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in her ward and among her neighbors. She and Lyle served a mission for the church in the Texas Houston Mission.
After their mission they sold the farm and moved to St. George, Utah. They lived there from the summer of 2002 to the summer of 2015. They then moved to St. Anthony where they lived until the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle, of St. Anthony; children Susan Bryan of Rexburg, Brent (Pat) Saurey of Rexburg, Kerry (Kay) Saurey of Rupert, Arlene (David) Nef of Idaho Falls, Denese (Bill) Hirschi of Rexburg; a sister Donna Jensen; 29 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and a grandson, Ty Hirschi.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5, at the Hibbard LDS Chapel, 2000 North 3000 West, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
