Obituary

Joyce Davis, 77, of Parker, passed away March 31, 2016 at Rexburg Care and Rehab.

She was born July 12, 1938 in Logan, Utah, to Charles H. and Ruth Draper. She was the oldest of four children.

She attended school in Logan and played the violin in her high school orchestra. She graduated from Logan High School in 1956.

Joyce met the love of her life, Darrell Wayne Davis, while he was attending Utah State University. They were married April 11, 1958 in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage they lived in Logan. Darrel worked for Thiokol and Joyce worked for M&L Coal company. Their first child, Susan Jo, was born in 1959.

In 1960 they moved to Parker where Darrell took over his father's business. Five more children were born while the family lived in Parker - Teri Lynn, Christy Rae, Darren Scott, Julie and Jay Davis.

Joyce had a beautiful and simple testimony of the gospel. She served in many callings in Primary and Sunday School.

She loved her garden and grew beautiful roses and flowers. She was very talented at embroidery and crochet, and made many beautiful things. Her children grew up playing under her quilt frames while she worked on her beautiful quilts.

Her greatest joy in life was her family and her grandchildren. Even in her later years when she was ill and tired, she always cared more about her family's needs than her own.

She is survived by her children; Susan (Brent) Jackson of Idaho Falls, ID; Teri Davis of St. Anthony, ID; Darren (Cathy) Davis of Parker, ID; Julie (Jeffrey) May of Parker, ID; and Jay Davis of Washington, D.C.; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bruce Draper of Colorado Springs, CO; and Roger Draper of Logan, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell Davis; a daughter, Christy Rae and her sister, Patricia Draper.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parker 2nd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Douglas James officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N.) in St. Anthony and on Friday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the Parker Church.
