Obituary

Joyce Terry Jackson, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec 30, 2016 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan 9, 1935 in Egin, Idaho the second of five children to George Frances and Irene Grover Terry. She graduated from Sugar-Salem High School.

On October 23,1953 Joyce married Fred C Jackson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, and spent 51 wonderful years together raising five children. She was a loving, patient, and unselfish mother, and her children were her pride and joy. Joyce spent several years working as a secretary at Western Farm Service (Parker), then went on to work at Simplot Soil Builders (St. Anthony) until her retirement.

As a devoted member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she displayed incredible faith and dedication to the Lord throughout her life. She served in the Nebraska Omaha Mission from 2004 to 2005 and continued to serve the Lord as a recorder in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple. Her Christ-like nature was evident in all that she did. She also enjoyed embroidery, dancing with her husband, and singing as a member of the Mello-Daires, providing musical entrainment in Saint Anthony.

Joyce is survived by her five children Diane (Keith) Remilong, Parker, ID. Ryan (Lesa) Jackson, Rexburg, ID. Royce (Shelley) Jackson Rexburg, ID. Brandon (Ashley) Jackson Parker, ID. Denise (Ty) Klingler Parker, ID., sister Lucretia Terry Davis, Texas, brother Blair Terry, Arizona, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and a great-granddaughter.


Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parker LDS Church. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 Bert Flamm Mortuary and at the church Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Parker Cemetery.
