Joyce Siddoway Simmons, 79 of Teton, ID died peacefully at her home, Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
She was born September 24, 1930 in Teton City, ID to Francis Robert and Ada Belle Walker Siddoway. She attended schools in Teton and St. Anthony where she graduated from High School. She also attended Utah State University in Logan, UT and graduated as a Dental Hygienist from dental school in San Francisco, CA and worked for Dr. A.G. Miller in St. Anthony.
Growing up in Teton she loved helping her father on the farm and spent summers on the dry farm on White Owl Butte south of Newdale.
She married Garner E. Simmons on March 20, 1952 in St. Anthony, ID. Their marriage was solemnized on November 12, 1965 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed callings in the Primary, YWMIA and Relief Society.
When her children were young she was very active in Little League Baseball and 4-H. She loved attending functions involving her children and grandchildren.
She loved reading, mowing the lawn, playing cards, her home and her family.
She is survived by her husband of Teton; children, Stephanie (Chesley) Blackham of Sugar City; Brad (JoAnn) Simmons of Parker; John (Chauntel) Simmons and Frank (Teresa) Simmons both of Idaho Falls; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Frances Crawley of Teton and her brother Boyd (Carolyn) Siddoway of Star Valley Ranch, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Jack Crawley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton LDS Chapel with Bishop Craig Carter officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony) and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
