Joyce Hill Parkinson Wright, 76, of Rexburg passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, of natural causes.

She was born on January 20 ^th , 1946, in Rexburg, ID to Max and Vina Parkinson. She was the second of 6 children. Joyce grew up in St. Anthony, Idaho where her family owned a farm. She graduated from South Fremont High School in 1964.

In high school Joyce met Keith Wright. After graduating they moved to San Jose, California and were later married. While in California, Joyce had a daughter Suzelle and son Korby. While Keith worked, Joyce spent time sunbathing by the pool and teaching her children how to swim. As a family, they enjoyed camping, water skiing, snow skiing and spending time at the pool.

The family relocated to Kansas, but they always dreamed of moving back to Idaho. In 1980, they were finally able to move back home to St. Anthony.

Joyce loved the outdoors and camping. So much so that she worked with the West Yellowstone fire fighters in the late 80's and even planted trees for the forest service for a few summers.

Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings. Her greatest love was her family and caring for them. Joyce lived most of her life in Eastern Idaho where she could be close to her 5 grandkids (Bron, Whitney, Darric, Kortney and Sabrina) and 3 great grandkids (Traevyn, Koen and Ember)

She is survived by her son Korby (Kirsten) Wright of Boise; her brothers and sisters Max (Gladys) Parkinson of Ashton, Wayne Parkinson of Ririe, Paul Parkinson of Ashton, Linda Morton of Big Piney, Lois (Terry) Mortenson of Salem. She was preceded in death by her daughter Suzelle Orr and her parents Max and Vina Parkinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday September 6 ^th at the Salem LDS Chapel (3462 North Salem Rd.) The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church. Burial will be in Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
