JoyLene Robison Leatham, 84 of Meridian Idaho and formerly of Rexburg, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 8, 2017, surrounded by her family. Joy was born July 8,1933 to David and Marilla Robison. She grew up on the family farm in Lyman and attended the Cedarpoint School.
She married Spence Whitney Leatham August 12,1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple in 1951.
Joy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in several callings. She especially liked indexing and doing temple work for her ancestors.
She was an avid reader and loved to crochet. All of her grandkids have a special afghan made just for them. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She and her sisters sang in church together when they were young.
Joy had many jobs in her life and did them all well; but her main focus was her family. She had a special love for each child and grandchild.
She got her cosmetology licence in 1964 and opened a salon in her home allowing her to work from home. Joy moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1998 to be near her family on that side fo the state.
Joy is survived by her children; Sherry (Tyrone) Pollard of Meridian, Idaho, Forrest Leatham of Nampa, Idaho and Craig (Debra) Leatham of Rexburg, her sisters Gwenna Young and Betty Clark both of Rexburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Spence, sisters Donna Hanson, Vendla Jemmett, a brother Gayland Robison, her son Quirt and daughter Debbie and grandchildren Trevor Cureton, Brian Cook and Wendy Leatham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Henry's Fork Stake Center (1508 West 3000 North Rexburg, Idaho). The family will receive friends at the stake center on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to www.flammfh.com.
