Juan Ojeda Soto passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family February 21, 2022 in Idaho Falls, Idaho and the age of 55.
Juan was born May 17, 1966 in Zapotillo, Sinaloa, Mexico to Ausencio Ojeda and Maria Trinida Soto.
Juan came to the United States at the age of seventeen in hopes to achieve the American dream and provide a better life for his future family. It was here that he met his wife Maria Dolores Varela; they were married in Rexburg, Idaho on July 2, 1988. They made Rexburg their home, where they raised their five children, Alex, Jace, Jasmine, Janice, and Janet.
Juan loved spending time with family and being outdoors. In the summer, he loved going camping, four-wheeling, gardening and any other outdoor activities. In the wintertime he loved snowmobiling. He enjoyed driving over 24 hours to his hometown, Zapotillo, Sinaloa, Mexico where he and his wife and children would spend Christmas time with family. Juan enjoyed working on cars and was quick to help anyone with anything.
Juan was an active member of the Sugar City Apostolic Church. He served as a treasurer for a number of years. He was then elected to serve as head usher where he served until his passing. He had a servant's heart and a love for people, always was willing to lend a hand in whatever capacity.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Sugar City Apostolic Assembly, 763 Railroad Avenue, Sugar City, Idaho 83448. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery, 350 West Moran View Road, Rexburg, Idaho 83440.
