Kay Lynn Statham, 64, of Rexburg, died June 24, 2015 at EIRMC in Idaho Falls.
He was born September 15, 1950 in Rexburg, Idaho to Gale and Lucille Statham. He was the second son out of five brothers.
He attended school in Rexburg and graduated form Madison High School in 1970. He then attended Billings Automotive School in Billings Montana. He was a good mechanic and kept his brothers vehicles running.
He met Kathy Wolfley after the Teton Dam broke and she moved to Rexburg to live with her sister. They were married April 15, 1977, they had one daughter, Patti.
Kay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as assistant scoutmaster and as a primary teacher for several years. He worked for Madison County Sheriff office as a jailer for 29 years then due to illness transferred to solid waste for 7 years before he retired.
He loved to fish and hunt. He had friends wherever he went and a trip to the store could take hours. He loved his family and one of his favorite pastimes was teasing his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy and their daughter Patti, both of Rexburg. He is also survived by his brothers, Max (Janet) Statham, Gene Statham, Terry Statham, and Boyd Statham, as well as 9 nieces and 11 nephews.
He was preceded is death by his parents, Gale and Lucille, a niece Ava Statham and his grandparents, Adrian and Venetta Stock and Fred and Flora Statham.
Private graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Rexburg Cemetery, with Bishop Brian Memmott officiating.
