Obituary

Kehl V Murray, 65, of Rexburg, Idaho passed away on August 31, 2022, after suffering an unexpected heart attack.

Kehl was born in Craig, Colorado on January 3, 1957, to Nola Sharon Behunin and the late Vern Eugene Murray. His stepdad, Dean Dobkins Durall, raised Kehl for many years. As a young boy, his family lived in Salt Lake City, and Vernal, Utah. They later relocated to Texas where Kehl attended high school. At the age of 18, Kehl chose to serve our country and joined the United States Coast Guard. During the four years he served, he gained a deep unchanging love for his country.

He moved to Provo, Utah where he met his wife, Lynette Walton. After working for the Bureau of Reclamation for several years, Kehl took a job with the U.S. Forest Service and relocated his family to Rexburg, Idaho. Upon his retirement, he took a position with Brigham Young University-Idaho in the Physical Facilities Department as a Construction Project Coordinator where he remained until his death.

Kehl was a believer in all thing's nature, an avid cyclist, a lover of books and knowledge, which he excitedly shared with all who would listen, and a rock and roll enthusiast. He was happiest when he was outside. As a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served in many capacities, but his greatest joys were his wife, children, grand puppies and sweet grandchildren.

Celebrate Kehl's life with us by connecting with nature. Go on a walk barefoot!

He is survived by his wife Lynette Murray of Rexburg, Idaho; children Christopher (Bethany) Murray of Westermoreland, Kansas, Kortnie (Adam) of Midvale, Utah; and Bridger (Mikaela), Markehl (Casey), and Bohlder (Erica) of Rexburg, Idaho as well as 3 grandchildren; Leo, Lilah, and Alaska (2 on the way); mother, Nola Durall of Rexburg, Idaho; brothers Ace (Linda) Murray of Madison, Wisconsin; Chad (Roxie) Murray of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Roger (Diana) Durall of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He is preceded in death by Justin Murray (son), Dean Durall (stepdad), Russell Walton (father-in-law), Vern Murray (father), John Durall (stepbrother), Haven Manwill (grandson), and Birdie Erickson.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rexburg East Stake Chapel located at 387 South 4th East, Rexburg, ID.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
