Obituary

Keith Leroy Elliott, 86, of Rexburg, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. He was born April 17, 1923 in Gage, Oklahoma to Sylvester Lincoln and Ruth Mable Adams Elliott. He was the oldest of nine children.

Keith married Eleanor Mae Smith in July of 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in March of 1983. They had thirteen children. Eleanor Mae died in March of 2005. He married Stella Chambers in August of 2006. They had three years together. He loved Stella and she was so good to him. He was a loving and compassionate husband.

He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II.

Keith worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a telegrapher for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman. Some of his neighbors thought he fished to feed his large family, but fishing was his second love. His first love being his family.

He got interested in genealogy in the last few years and completed a lot of genealogy work.

He is survived by his wife, Stella; children, Phyllis (Bob) Wolfley, Charlotte Lees, Gayle (Kent) Fisher, Raymond Elliott, Shannon (Mike) Redd, Sandi (Alan) Smith, Randy Elliott, Deena (Shane) Leonard, Darwin (Vicky) Elliott, Adam (Barbara) Elliott, Anna Mickelson, Matt (Claudia) Elliott; siblings, John (Erna) Elliott, Stanley Elliott, Peggy (Gary) Payne, Gladys Fisher, Mark Elliott, Betty (Bruce) Hamilton, Lawrence (Linda) Elliott, Alta Mae Elliott; 39 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Mae and a daughter Pamela Elliott.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 25 at the Rexburg LDS Stake Center, 845 West 7th South. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion. Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.flammfh.com.
