Keith Earl Meyers, 91, of Plano, died peacefully at home, January 15, 2013. He was born August 21, 1921, in Plano to Henry Earl and Della Matilda Robertson Meyers. He was the second child and only boy in the family. His sisters were Leah, Fay and Melva. He attended school at the Edmunds School, graduating in 1939.
He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines and Japan.
He married Lea J. Logan, in Plano on October 30, 1957. They lived and raised their family in Plano.
He farmed and ranched in the Plano area all his life, and was still working until a month before his death. He was active in the Cattlemen's Association for the East Beaver Allotment and served as President and Vice President. He also served as the Vice President and as director for the Fremont-Madison Cattlemen's Association. He served on the St. Anthony Union Canal Co. as director and Vice President. In 1968, he was honored by the Fremont-Madison Cattlemen's Association as Grassman of the Year. He was honored as one of 1989's Cattlemen of the Year.
He was a member of the Hans Jensen Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Lea; children, Cheryl (Bryan) Lusk, Lane Meyers and Ron Meyers; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Tatton and Andrew (Bailey) Lusk; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Fay Wilcox and Melva (Norman) Baker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Leah Stoddard, a niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, at the Plano Ward Chapel with Bishop Kyle Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
