IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Keith
Robertson
January 6, 1927 – December 30, 2021
Our beloved father, grandfather and friend Keith Orville Joseph Robertson passed away December 30, 2021 while residing at the Homestead in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Keith was brought into this world by his Aunt Nettie in the family home January 6, 1927 to Orville Joseph Robertson and Sarah Hendricks Robertson on the family farm in Plano, Idaho. A perfect place for a boy to be raised.
Keith helped his father with the cattle and sheep operation along with raising potatoes, hay and grain while he attended classes in the old Edmonds school. When he wasn't busy farming he would go with his friends to the Riverside to dance, skating rinks and the movie theater in Rigby where he met the love of his life Carol Dee Riley of Rigby, Idaho.
Keith and Carol married on June 28, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Keith and his bride moved into the Robertson home in Plano and managed the farm and ranch operation. They later were blessed with four children, Garth Keith, Peggy Ann, Max Lynn, and Suzanne. He held various positions in the church.
He farmed and ranched for 42 years where he raised cattle and farmed hay on upper Sand Creek in Fremont County Idaho. Keith was director of the Fremont Madison Cattlemen's Association and director of the Independent Canal Company.
After he retired from farming he helped Carol with the business they owned for several years, Robertson Custom Drapes and drove for public transportation for 11 years which he thoroughly enjoyed. The kids just loved him and often would bring him gifts.
Keith enjoyed railroad history and would always stay up to date with the current happenings about the railroad. He kept a large scrapbook of all the newspaper articles about the railroad. When they had the time they traveled to Canada, all of the southern states and Mexico where they loaded their fifth wheel trailer on the train and traveled into the depths of Mexico. They also traveled along the Pacific coast, fished in the ocean and brought their ocean fish home to share with family and friends.
Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He knew his priority was his beautiful wife, Carol. He was sole care giver to Carol until her passing. Keith then spent almost every weekend with family going for drives, riding the ATV in the mountains and going to Jackpot. He always talked about old times.
Keith is survived by his children Peggy Ann Miller, Max Lynne Robertson, Suzanne (Myron Baker) and 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, 2 grandchildren, 4 sisters and a brother.
Private family services were held.
The family wants to thank the St. Anthony Homestead Assisted Living and the Homestead Hospice for the kind, tender and gentle care he received.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you consider a donation to the Primary Children's Hospital.
