Ken E. Vander Linden, 64, passed away January 11, 2022, at his home. Ken was born September 8, 1957, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Donald Francis Vander Linden and Ruth Broadhurst Vander Linden. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony, Idaho. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp after high school and was honorably discharged after two years of service. He worked with his father and brothers at H&L Electric as an HVAC Technician from 1976 to 1986. From July 1986 to April 2013 he worked as a Fireman at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy. He loved being a Fireman; it was his true calling, and worked hard to earn the rank of Battalion Chief. Ken was also an active member of the Fremont County Search & Rescue and an EMT-A with the Fremont County Ambulance Association. Ken had a great sense of humor, loved to dance, was a great cook, and an avid outdoorsman who spent many good times teaching his boys to hunt and fish. Ken loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and his beloved German Shorthair, Molly Brown.
Ken is survived by sons Ryan Nicholas (Brittany) Vander Linden and grandchildren Pake Brandon and Paizlee Diane of Kremmling, Colorado, Donald Lee (Amy) Vander Linden and grandchildren Ava Ruth and Maxwell Arthur of Divide, Colorado, and Cordell K. Vander Linden of St. Anthony, Idaho. Ken is also survived by sisters Cathy (Sam) Bang, Alita (Arden) Stoddard, and brother Scott (Kara) Vander Linden and numerous nephews and nieces. Ken was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brothers Wallace Nolan and Donald Nickolas.
