Obituary

Ira "Kent" Grover, 83, of Archer died Sunday, February 10, 2013 surrounded by his family at home. He was born September 3, 1929 in Archer to Raymond Grover and Katie Browning Grover.

On October 20, 1955 he married Elna H. Branson in Archer. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple, on January 23, 1981. They made their home in Archer.

During his childhood Kent farmed with his family until he was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War.

After being honorably discharged Kent continued to farm as well as work in maintenance and installation in the potato processing industry. Later he worked at the Rexburg Cal Ranch. Finally working as ground maintenance supervisor at Madison School District 321 and retiring in 1994.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held numerous positions, his favorite being 8 years he served in the Idaho Fall Temple.

Kent was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and huckleberrying with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Elna H. Grover of Archer, a daughter Helen (De) Brown of Plano, sons, Ken J. Grover of Archer, and Gary (Marilyn) Grover of Lyman as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Ila McBride and Ona Thompson, both of Rexburg.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Katie Grover, his step-mother, Ina Grover, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13th at the Archer LDS Chapel with Bishop Reese Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery with Military Rites.
