Obituary

Clendon Kerry Gee, 88, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Jim King, surrounded by family and an abundance of love.

Kerry was born in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Clendon Edgar and Erma Ricks Gee. He was the fourth of eight children and grew up on a ranch in Felt, Idaho. From an early age, Kerry learned the value of hard work—helping with chores at age five and driving a harvest truck by six. He attended school in Sugar City, where he served as student body president, excelled in sports, and earned his Eagle Scout award.

After attending Ricks College, Kerry served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Great Lakes Area. He later earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University and a Ph.D. at Oregon State University. While at OSU, he met his sweetheart and fell in love with Kathleen Fagg. They married in the Idaho Falls temple in 1963 and raised four children: Stephen, Sherrie, Michael, and Mark in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Kerry worked in agricultural economics with the USDA, taught college classes, and consulted in Nepal and Pakistan. He even testified before Congress, but his heart was always on the ranch. In 1989, he returned to Idaho to farm and ranch full-time and never looked back.

He served faithfully in many church roles, including three times as bishop. He loved the scriptures, scouting, family campouts, a good Louis L'Amour novel, and long summer days in the fields in Teton Valley. He also wrote a booklet on the Plan of Salvation that he loved to share.

Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clendon and Erma Gee, his sisters Marilyn Black and Beverly Hyde (Kendell), and his brother Stephen (Nanette). He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 62 years, his children Stephen (Erin), Sherrie King (Jim), Michael (Tamara), and Mark (Michele), 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, his sisters Marlene Jenks (Bill deceased) and Ann Moss (Bill), and his brothers Jerald (Toni) and James (Marilyn).

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Kerry's brothers and sisters for their love, visits, and the many drives they took with him during his later years. Special thanks also go to the kind neighbors and ward members in Sugar City who ministered regularly to Kerry and Kathy as his physical and mental health declined. The family is especially grateful for the exceptional care provided by Rexburg Home Health and Hospice, The Homestead in Rexburg, and St. Luke's Hospital Hospice in Twin Falls, who cared for Kerry for nearly three years. The St. Luke's team went above and beyond—offering not just professional care, but friendship and compassion that deeply touched the entire family.

His steady faith, gentle humor, and generous heart leave a lasting legacy.

A viewing will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg from 5:30 pm till 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at the Sugar City grey church at 11:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2025 with a viewing held prior from 10:00 am till 10:45 am.
