Kevin Jack McMinn, 54 of Rexburg, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 21, 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID to Jack and Elizabeth Kaye Jenkins McMinn.
He was raised in Plano. He attended schools in Sugar City and the Eastern Idaho VoTec.
He married Marcie Lloyd and they were later divorced. He served in the Army from May of 1976 until receiving an honorable discharge in April of 1978.
In 2002 he moved to Alaska and in 2012 he returned to Idaho where he lived in Salem.
Kevin always enjoyed being in the outdoors whether it was driving down an old country road on his 4 wheeler with Breanna and Kenny headed to the river to go fishing to see who could catch the biggest salmon. He was always in the mood to go hunting, camping or fishing.
He always knew right from wrong and would tell you exactly what you were doing wrong. Kevin would try to teach anyone who was willing to do the work and listen, as that was how he was taught by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Greg (Tara) of Kenai, Alaska; Ryan (Anna) of St. Anthony, ID and Chris also of St. Anthony; his mother Kaye McMinn of Salem; siblings, Debra McMinn of Portland, OR; Brenda McMinn of Twin Falls, ID and Donna McMinn of Soldotna, Alaska; and 6 grandchildren; Jessica, Draiden, Laiton, Colton, Kaitlyn and Gauyn. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack McMinn, grandparents, Lloyd and Elizabeth McMinn and Harvey and Edith Jenkins; nephews, Levi and Russell McMinn and uncles, Bill, Bruce and Fred McMinn.
He will be missed by all he touched with his heart and hands. He will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. 1st E., Rexburg, ID. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Idaho Honor Guard and the St. Anthony Veterans Team.
