Kim Chantrill,70, passed away on May18, 2017 in Rexburg, ID. She was born July10,1946 in Rexburg, Idaho. Kim was the first of three adored daughters of James Leigh Chantrill and Erna Larsen Chantrill. The family lived 4 miles east of Newdale on a farm.
Kim attended schools in the Sugar-Salem District where she excelled in Drama and English. As a sophomore she began a career of summer theater including Pierre's Play House in Victor Id, The Play mill Theater and Golden Garter Play House in West Yellowstone, MT. She attended Ricks College and the University of Utah. Kim was a member of the LDS faith. She taught in the auxiliaries, lead the singing was a choir director, and taught early seminary. Kim loved writing short plays and wrote over 100 roadshows.
Kim worked in the trucking industry and at Cottonwood Hospital in the Salt Lake Area. A short detour to Stan Wood WA and finally back to Rexburg Care & Rehabilitation and Rexburg Housing .Kim moved home in 1997 to help care for her parents.
Kim is survived by her sisters, Alice (Bart) Roberts of Rexburg, Idaho and Therese (Rodney) Barber of Rigby, Idaho. She is also survived by 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews and one great nephew, as well as two daughters, a son-in-law, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, claimed by love.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Burton LDS Chapel.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery.
