Kristan Peterson passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 of a heart attack. She was born December 5,1971 to Gary and Julee Peterson.
She attended school at Hibbard and Kennedy Elementary and graduated from Madison High School. She also attended Ricks College and completed travel agent school. She worked in Salt Lake City for a year then moved home. She worked at the Standard Journal at the front office desk. She has worked for the last ten years in real estate. She has been the office manager and licensed assistant at Idaho's Real Estate for Rod Jones. She was a trusted employee and was always dependable and reliable. She had many friends and gained the trust of those in the real estate community.
She enjoyed traveling to Arizona, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Tennessee, camping and fishing with her family throughout the Northwest and Canada. She had a talent for making quilts and other hand work. She liked to cook and was always finding new recipes. She was a collector of Madame Alexander dolls. She had an extensive collection of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and other Disney figurines.
She loved her nieces and nephews and looked forward to spending time with them. She loved planning family excursions to attend cultural events.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had received her endowment and was able to participate in the covenants and ordinances of the temple. She enjoyed researching and doing her family history.
Kristan is survived by her parents, sisters Lezlee Hays of Phoenix, Arizona and Nicole Peterson of Rexburg, nieces Bailey Jo Peterson and Jordan Hays, nephews Dustin Peterson, Holden Hays and Brennan Hays.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, LaVon and Edna Jensen, Glenn and Thelma Peterson, a sister Blaire Peterson and a nephew Casey Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Hibbard LDS Church (2001 North 3000 West) The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
